As far as intriguing setups for a story go, it doesn't get much better than this-and Broken Sword, which turns 25 this week, lives up to it, with killer puzzles, brilliant writing, and gorgeous art. George soon finds himself tangled up in a conspiracy involving an ancient secret society, in an epic journey that takes him all over the globe, from Ireland to Syria. But in typical adventure game fashion, the pursuit of this red-nosed terrorist spirals into something much more complicated-and dangerous. This goofy lawyer is the unlikely hero of classic '90s adventure game Broken Sword, who makes it his mission to track down the bomber and bring him to justice. One sunny autumn day in Paris, a clown walks into a cafe, blows it up, and flees the scene, almost killing American tourist George Stobbart in the process.
